Map & Compass and GPS Basics for Geocaching

This is an information filled clinic that should appeal to hikers, Scouts, paddlers, and anyone interested in getting started in geocaching. We will begin with some basic map and compass skills. We know this may sound old-fashioned, but the more you know about map and compass basics, the easier it will be to understand your GPS and getting started with geocaching. Plus, what happens if modern technology fails!

Anyway, once we have you acclimated to map and compass, we will move on to the basics of GPS and geocaching. We’ll provide compasses, worksheets, and GPS units. The clinic will also include some work outdoors with your new-found skills.

Program Fee – Includes Clinic, Work Materials & Lunch – Members $20/Person, Non-Members $22/Person.
