Polar Bear Plunge

to benefit York County Special Olympics

We welcome you to be a part of “Team Shank’s Mare” as we raise money and then take an icey plunge in the Susquehanna all to benefit Special Olympics. If you are too chicken to take the plunge, you can still donate to this worthy cause and show up to support our home team!

Riverkeeper Biathlon & Fun Paddle

to benefit the Lower Susquehanna Riverkeeper

Join the fun and support our local Lower Susquehanna Riverkeeper at the same time. The Biathlon is a 3.7 mile run on the Mason-Dixon Trail followed by a 4-mile paddle on the Susquehanna. For those who don’t have the competitive spirit, take part in the guided Fun Paddle from Wrightsville to Long Level. 2012 dates and details to follow soon.

Shank’s Mare Art & Outdoor Fest

Sat., August 4, 2012, 10am-8pm

Join us for our Third Annual Art & Outdoor Fest celebrating Shank’s Mare’s 34th anniversary. This event will feature local artists displaying their work in booths on our front porch and grounds. We will also have local outdoor, historic, and cultural organizations present offering information on the wide array of activities and programs in our area. Enjoy food and ice cream at the Lock 2 Café, and we’ll top off the day with live music. Spend the day savoring the flavor of the Susquehanna with art, activity, food and entertainment.
