Lock 2 Cafe – CLOSED FOR THE SEASON 10/1/17

Named after its location on the banks of the Susquehanna at the original footprint of Lock 2 on the 1880’s Susquehanna-Tidewater Canal . Menu options include homemade soups, chili, sandwiches and light food, snacks, beverages and coffee and Turkey Hill hand-dipped ice cream and milk shakes.

Summer Friday Night Unwind

Free Live Music from 6-9pm

Shank’s Mare’s front porch sets the stage for our summer music series. Grab some friends, kids, dogs, chairs, blankets & coolers and gather on the river for some live local music (yes, you can kick up your heels and dance if you wish). Shank’s Mare’s Lock 2 Café will feature dinner specials for each concert plus our regular menu of wraps & sandwiches, chili, and of course, ice cream. Come by boat, kayak or car, and enjoy some great tunes as you watch the river flow by. BYOB welcome. No reservations are required There is no cover charge for our live music, but we do encourage you to visit the Lock 2 Cafe for food, beverages and ice cream. These evenings of free live music from talented local musicians are made possible by your patronage of the Lock 2 Cafe, and we hope to continue to do so. Unwind Paddle Tour, Music & Meal Series

This program will be offered each night during the summer when we have live music scheduled on our porch. Shank’s Mare guides will lead you on a leisurely paddle tour along the shoreline suitable for those who have never kayaked before, or anyone who wants to enjoy a relaxing paddle. The fee will include your kayak rental, a one hour guided paddle tour, a meal voucher for your dinner at the Lock 2 Café, and of course, the live music on the porch at Shank’s Mare. Pre-registration is required for this program. What a great way to spend a summer evening at the river!
