Early Settlers Build Ferries and Fight Border Wars

Wrightsville is named after John Wright, a sheriff appointed by the Penn family and operator of Wright's Ferry.  Thomas Cresap came to the area from Maryland and named Long Level "Pleasant Garden, MD".  Learn how the settlers built their villages along the Susquehanna, how they crossed the river, and how they fought to claim the land for themselves.
