Riverkeeper Paddle Tour - Partnership of Farming & the River - Lake Aldred



Explore the Lake Aldred area of the Susquehanna formed by the Holtwood Dam.  The Conestoga River and Otter Creek flow into this part of the river delivering run-off from farming operations throughout Lancaster and York Counties. Riverkeeper Ted Evgeniadis will outline the environmental issues this partnership presents to the river.  Riverkeeper Ted Evgeniadis will outline the environmental issues present in this unique and historic area of the Susquehanna.

Skill Details:
Our paddling pace is leisurely as we explore Lake Aldred on the Susquehanna. The tour is 6 miles of paddling.
Materials Included:
Fee includes all your gear, guides, shuttle and lunch. There is a fee noted if you have your own kayak and gear.
Requirements:
Participants should wear clothing suitable for watersports as well as water shoes (no flip flops). We recommend cool weather clothing (no cotton), nylon shell or paddling jacket, hat with a brim and water bottle.
Instructor Bio:
Shank's Mare instructors have years of experience leading participants on paddle tours. They will share highlights of the Susquehanna River sure to give you a valuable "sense of place" on your paddle tour.
