Paddle Day Tour - Columbia Crossing to Shank's Mare

Launch at Columbia Crossings and head downriver.  You will travel the channel through rock formations  to the Conejohela Flats located just across the river from Shank's Mare.  This area is listed as an Important Bird Area by the Audubon Society. During mid to late summer, it is a popular migratory area for shore birds. You are bound to see a wide variety of birds including bald eagles, osprey, heron and more.  After your paddling exploration, a picnic lunch will be served on Shank's Mare's porch overlooking the river.   Rental kayaks are available or bring your own.  Meet at Shank's Mare and shuttle to the put-in in Columbia.
