Work Outdoors Fitness


Work Outdoors is just that...a workout for fitness and mindfulness with nature involved. Our Work Outdoors sessions are held at Shank's Mare overlooking the Susquehanna River. Fresh air, natural surroundings, and a beautiful view set the stage for ISSA certified fitness instructor Heather Geare to lead you through your hour-long class for all skill levels. Heather's mindfulness certification from New Skills Academy makes her uniquely qualified to head this new approach to whole body fitness.


Mondays - June 15, 22, 29 or July 6, 13, 2020 - 6:00-7:00pm

Wednesdays - June 17, 24, or July 1, 8, 15, 2020 - 9:00-10:00am
Sundays - June 28, July 12, July 19, July 26, 2020 - 9:00-10:00am


This class features stretch, strength, and mind workouts during the hour-long session. Stretching will limber you up for the strength portion of the workout designed to increase your stamina and flexibility. The mindfulness portion ends your class with appropriate cool down for your body, and healthy meditation for your mind. All you need for the class is a mat and appropriate clothing offering freedom of movement. Work at your own pace in these classes designed for all skill levels. Class sessions are offered on Monday evenings or Wednesday mornings. Click above for our schedule and register online.

Stand-Up Paddleboard Yoga


June 2020 – Sat. June 20 - 10:30am-12:30pm
July 2020 – Thurs. July 16 - 3:30-5:30pm or Sat. July 25 - 10:30am-12:30pm
August  2020  – Thurs. August 6 - 3:30-5:30pm or Sat. August 15 - 10:30am-12:30pm
September 2020 - Fri. September 4 - 10:30am-12:30pm

The perfect companion to your Work Outdoors Basic Class is SUP Yoga! Practice the yoga skills of grounding and centering, creating inner balance and linking movement to breath...all on a stand-up paddleboard. Our SUP expert, Josh Hill, will help you get comfortable on your paddleboards. Then Heather Geare will lead you in your yoga practice. This two hour class is taught in a quiet, sheltered and shallow area of the river. Dress appropriately including proper footwear for the water. Board, paddle and pfd are provided.
